Awasis Solar

Project Overview

The Awasis Solar Project is a partnership between Elemental and Cowessess First Nation (CFN), and is located east of Regina, Saskatchewan. CFN is a renewable energy leader in Saskatchewan, having built an 800kW wind turbine, a 500kW solar array, and 400kWh battery system. The project is located on reserve status land owned by CFN and brings direct benefits to CFN in terms of ownership experience, lease revenue, and equity returns. Together, Elemental and CFN have developed a comprehensive community capacity building plan to ensure local benefits are realized through knowledge sharing, employment, and training opportunities.
