Elemental is an entrepreneurial team of individuals with diverse backgrounds in energy, finance, and project development. The team brings a track record of executing complex transactions, building successful businesses, and developing lasting partnerships.
Jamie is responsible for discovering new business and investment opportunities and setting the strategic direction of the company.
Jamie has been in the renewable energy business since 2009. He has worked for Elemental performing a variety of roles since 2010 and worked at Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital before that. His first career was in the film business, where he was President and Co-Founder of The Collective Films, an award winning documentary and commercial film production company.
Jamie has a MBA from the University of British Columbia and a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Joe is the Chairman of Elemental and plays a role in evaluating investment opportunities, structuring deals, and working with partners.
Joe is the founder and former CEO of Intrawest Corporation – an international resort and real estate developer responsible for the success of Whistler Blackcomb as well as dozens of award-winning golf courses, villages and developments around the world. He is also founder and Chairman of Intracorp – an urban real estate developer with offices in Seattle, California, Vancouver and Toronto. His holdings include a variety of businesses in industries including real estate, resorts, construction, and aircraft supply and services.
Joe has a MBA from the University of British Columbia and a BCom from the University of Saskatchewan.
Director of Project Development
Dan is responsible for the strategy and execution of Elemental’s wind and solar development portfolio.
Dan has over a decade of experience in the renewable energy industry, including eight years in technical, managerial, and leadership roles with two of the world’s leading renewable energy consultancies. He has experience working on over 12GW of wind and solar projects, from greenfield development through to operations.
Dan holds a Bachelor’s of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is a registered professional engineer. He also has an MBA from Simon Fraser University.
Ryan oversees the construction and management of the Box Canyon Hydro Project and evaluates other hydro project investment opportunities. Ryan is a professional engineer with 14 years of experience in renewable energy development with a focus on hydroelectric projects, including: design, optimization, permitting, tendering, contract negotiations, construction management.
Before joining Elemental Ryan worked on hydro projects at Veresen, Innergex Renewable Energy, and Sigma Engineering.
Ryan holds a B.A. Sc., Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
Director – Finance
Jon is responsible for structured finance, origination and analysis of new investment opportunities and assisting on key development activities.
Jon began working in clean energy at the Chicago-based headquarters of Invenergy in 2007. In 2013, he joined Alterra Power Corp as VP of Project Finance & Development in Vancouver, BC. At Alterra he led the project financing and origination on over 800 MW of new wind, solar and hydro assets, including the successful acquisition of Alterra’s first US-based wind project, the 204 MW Shannon Wind project.
Jon has a business degree from the University of Iowa and was awarded the CFA designation in 2007.
Jake leads the management and oversight of our portfolio of operating projects.
Jake has two decades of experience in industrial electrical construction and operations, including a role as construction coordinator for Elemental’s 17 MW Brooks Solar Project. Before joining Elemental, he held Electrical Construction Coordinator roles for two major resource companies in Alberta in which he acted on behalf of the owner and was responsible for project design review, construction oversight, and commissioning.
Jake is a Red Seal Electrical Journeyman from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, and has his Masters in Electrical from Medicine Hat College.
Tania oversees the accounting, tax, administration and corporate compliance for Elemental, its subsidiaries and joint venture entities. Additionally, she assists the team with asset management and project financing activities.
Tania has been in the renewable energy sector since 2007. Prior to joining Elemental, she was responsible for the accounting and administration of GreenWing Energy. Tania also worked as internal and external auditor at Deloitte in Mexico.
Tania holds a Bachelor degree in Public Accounting with Honours from the University of La Salle Bajio in Mexico. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
Will is primarily responsible for supporting the advancement of Elemental’s solar and wind development portfolio. With over 8-years of experience in project delivery, Will specializes in originating and permitting renewable energy projects.
Will holds a B.A. Sc., Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is registered as a Professional Engineer and Project Management Professional.
Kari supports the Controller in the accounting, tax, administration and corporate compliance for Elemental, its subsidiaries and joint venture entities.
Kari has worked as a Business Analyst for the Engineering department of the Department of National Defense, and spent 3 years with Scotiabank.
Kari holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria. She is currently a CPA student.
Analyst – Finance
Troy is responsible for supporting the analysis and evaluation of potential business and investment opportunities.
He has worked since 2015 in business development, finance, valuations and natural resources which includes financial modelling, business valuation and forecasting.
Troy holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UBC’s Sauder School of Business with a minor in Economics. He has been awarded the CFA and CPA designations.
Gina leads Administration and Office Management.
Her experience in administration includes a variety of industries such as construction, health services and education. Previously, she spent 3 years working in construction mainly as an Environmental Technician.
Gina has a Human Resource Management Certificate from the University of Calgary.
Maryam supports the project development team in the advancement of Elemental’s solar and wind development portfolio. She has been involved in renewable energy and sustainable development projects locally and abroad since 2018, which includes roles in mechatronics design, research and development, communications, and project coordination.
Maryam is currently pursuing a B.A.Sc., Engineering Physics with a specialization in Sustainability at the University of British Columbia.
Assistant Project Manager
Daniel assists the construction and development teams in project execution and implementation, focusing on Elemental’s Alberta and Saskatchewan solar projects. Daniel is registered as an Engineer-In-Training in Alberta, having previously worked as a project engineer in the midstream oil & gas industry.
Daniel holds a B.E.Sc., Green Process Engineering from the University of Western Ontario.
